Magomed Ankalaev clarifies UFC 282 post-fight comments
On Saturday night many felt that Magomed Ankalaev was robbed of a UFC title when the judges declared his fight with Jan Blachowicz a draw.
And when Joe Rogan spoke with Ankalaev after the fight he had some choice words about it. In fact, he said, due to the result he may never fight in the UFC again.
And Dana White wasn’t happy about it. Just minutes after his statements were made, White rebooked the title fight but left Ankalaev out of the mix.
Now Ankalaev is claiming the translation of his comments was wrong.
I wanna clear something up, what I said after the fight was I don’t want to fight in this city anymore because of the horrible judging, I did not say anything about I don’t wanna fight in the UFC.
I wanna thank @danawhite and @Mickmaynard2 for the opportunity

I fought my heart out today, there is no excuse, but I had a compromised knee, it wasn’t my best performance, but I know I won the fight. Thank you @danawhite and the @ufc for giving me this opportunity

Following the fight White announced that former champion Glover Teixeira will fight Jamahal Hill in the UFFC 283 main event in Rio de Janeiro on Jan. 21, leaving Anthony Smith, who was meant to fight Hill in March without an opponent.
