Henry Cejudo is not a fan of the UFC Apex

Former two-division UFC champion Henry Cejudo isn’t a fan of the UFC Apex venue in Las Vegas and believes the fighters deserve better.

The facility was opened in June 2019 and served as the go-to venue during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The fight promotion still uses the Apex to host fight cards and the first UFC event of 2023 will be held there. The venue seats up to 1,000 spectators.

Competing in the facility is a unique experience. Cornermen and commentators can be easily heard by the fighters. Some fighters like to compete there, but others do not.

While giving his breakdown of the upcoming bantamweight bout between Marlon Vera and Cory Sandhangen, Cejudo let his feelings about the Apex be known.

“The Apex is not doing justice for any of the fighters,” Cejudo said on his YouTube channel. “The UFC is saving money, but, again, it’s not promoting the sport. It’s not giving these fighters these different experiences. Every time I fought I wasn’t fighting in a damn 300 seat arena.”

“I personally don’t like the Apex,” Cejudo continued. “I don’t see myself fighting at the Apex. I don’t mind fighting at the Apex, but that’s not my cup of tea.”
