Combat sports standouts Mike Perry and Sean Strickland are known for sparring all comers, and their paths have finally crossed. Perry recently visited Xtreme Couture, Strickland’s home base, in Las Vegas, and the two respectfully traded blows. Despite the large personalities at play and shared history of hard sparring, nobody got too aggressive or threw overly hard shots.

On my scorecard, it’s a clear Strickland 10-9, but it’s important not to take sparring footage too seriously.

Currently, neither man is booked to fight, and both are coming off losses. Perry most recently left the bare knuckle arena — where he’s currently unbeaten and holds the King of Violence title — to square off versus Jake Paul in a huge money match. Unfortunately, “Platinum” was beaten to a pulp by his much larger foe.

He’s expected to return to action at some point this year.

Meanwhile, Strickland had an opportunity to simultaneously become two-time UFC Middleweight champion and avenge a prior loss to Dricus Du Plessis back in February. Sadly for the American, “Stillknocks” shattered his nose and took a wide decision. It’s unclear when Strickland will return or who he’ll face, but he most recently called out Belal Muhammad to settle their longstanding feud in the Octagon.
