Muslim Salikhov and Uros Medic faced off in a compelling welterweight clash at UFC Vegas 111 on Saturday night, as the seasoned veterans met in a battle to stay relevant in the ever-evolving 170-pound division.
Salikhov (22-5) continued to defy age at 41, entering the bout on a three-fight win streak. Two of those victories came by way of highlight-reel first-round knockouts over Kenan Song and Carlos Leal, earning him a showdown with Medic.
Medic (11-3) entered the bout coming off a win over Gilbert Urbina in August. The UFC veteran has compiled an impressive resume with victories over Tim Means, Matthew Semelsberger, Omar Morales, Aalon Cruz, and Urbina.
Round 1 – Medic opened the fight with immediate pressure, while Salikhov fired off high kicks in response. Staying composed, Medic landed quick, precise shots from the outside, then connected clean with a powerful left hand that dropped Salikhov and ended the fight in emphatic fashion.
