UFC Baku went down yesterday(Sat., June 21, 2025) inside Baku Crystal Hall In Baku, Azerbaijan, which saw Khalil Rountree Jr. dominate Jamahal Hill to earn a unanimous decision win (recap here). In the co main event, Rafael Fiziev got back on track with a win of his own over Chilean prospect, Ignacio Bahamondes.

Biggest Winner: Khalil Rountree Jr.
This one has to go to Rountree Jr. after he put on one of the best performances of his career over a former UFC Light Heavyweight champion. Rountree Jr. was firing on all cylinders, in particular his striking attack, which was on point all night long. His kicking game was top-notch, too, taking Hill out of his game. When you couple that with a few knockdowns scored, Rountree Jr. really showed out and bounced back nicely following his gutsy defeat at the hands of Alex Pereira. He is 6-1 in his last seven fights and he can fully expect to hit the Top 5 following this victory, which puts him on the fast-track for another title fight if he can secure another dominant win.

Runner Up: Rafael Fiziev
Coming into the event, Fiziev was in a must-win situation after dropping his last three in a row, with his last win coming nearly three years ago. The dangerous striker delivered a well-rounded attack against Bahamondes, who was coming in fully confident on the heals of a three-fight win streak. Whether or not the win is good enough for Fiziev to crack the Top 10 remains to be seen, but this is a huge confidence booster that could propel him toward a nice run, much like the one he enjoyed early on in his UFC career, winning six of his first seven fights.
Biggest Loser: Jamahal Hill
This one is also pretty easy to call because “Sweet Dreams” has now lost three straight fights after he was utterly dominated by Rountree Jr. While his previous two losses were knockout defeats against former champions (Pereira and Jiri Prochazka), this one will sting a bit more because it will take him out of the Top 5 and make his road back to a potential title fight downright treacherous. He doesn’t exactly have the frame to drop down to Middleweight, and a move up is also not likely. That means he has his work cut out for himself at 205 pounds, where anyone not ranked in the Top 5 — or even Top 10 — can still give Hill the business and a potential fourth straight defeat. “Sweet Dreams” is going to have to go back to the drawing board to think long and hard as to what exactly his next step will be.
