Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) brought us UFC 320 TONIGHT (Sat., Oct. 4, 2025), streaming LIVE on ESPN+ PPV from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The pay-per-view (PPV) main event was a rematch for the UFC Light Heavyweight championship with Magomed Ankalaev vs. Alex Pereira 2. This match-up had become especially bitter, as of late, thanks in-part to Google translate.
Tonight we got the chance to see whether Pereira had more to show against Ankalaev than he did in the last fight. Or, perhaps whether or not Poatan was on “too many side quests” lately.
UFC 320’s co-main event was Merab Dvalishvili vs. Cory Sandhagen for Dvalishvili’s UFC Bantamweight title. Sandhagen was feeling bullish against “The Machine,” claiming Dvalishvili has no way to beat him and: “I don’t get tired.”
UFC 320’s “Prelims” were headlined by Ateba Gautier vs. Treston Vines. Also on the undercard was Chris Gutierrez vs. Farid Basharat and Macy Chiasson vs. Yana Santos.

UFC 320 PPV MAIN CARD PLAY-BY-PLAY UPDATES
Alex Pereira is a special human being. He spent most of his first fight with Magomed Ankalaev moving backwards. He did not take a backwards step in this fight. He walked forwards throwing bombs and made very short work of Ankalaev to relclaims the UFC Light Heavyweight title. Pereira then dunked on his defeated opponents and whipped the crowd up into a “Chama” chant before demanding a minute silence for the late Arthur Jones. What a fighter. What a spectacle.
In the co-main Merab Dvalishvili defended his belt for the third time this year. Cory Sandhagen brought a very good performance out of him, though. Sandhagen won the first round and stung the champion a few times, but Dvalishvili’s famed motor was too much. He took Sandhagen down twenty times and almost finished him with strikes in the second round. The Georgian has now essentially cleared out his division.
Before those fights Jiri Prochazka weathered a storm against Khalil Rountree and then just decided, in the third round, that he no longer feels pain and can not be knocked out. He walked through Rountree’s offense and starting firing combos at him until he made Rountree fall like a redwood.
Also on the PPV, Youssef Zalal made lightning quick work of Josh Emmett, scoring a takedown, back take and then transition to armbar before Emmett even knew what was happening.
Joe Pyfer opened the main card with a submission win over Abus Magomedov. He lost the first round, but stormed back in the second thanks to the power in his hands.
On the “Prelims” Edmen Shahbazyan, Ramiz Brahimaj, Daniel Santos and Ateba Gautier scored finishes. Brahimaj did his as an underdog opposite Austen Vanderford. Patchy Mix lost a decision to the debuting Jakub Wiklacz and was the victim of some suspect scoring.
Magomed Ankalaev vs. Alex Pereira

Round 1: Pereira comes out swinging! Ankalaev is able to back up and avoid the opening salvo, though. Pereira lands some hard leg kicks. He then steps in and lands a big right hand. That hurts Ankalaev! Ankalaev shoots. Pereira stuffs it and starts unloading with ground and pound. Herb Dean gives Ankalaev plenty of time, but Pereira keeps unloading punches and elbows and scores the TKO. Pereira then poses over Ankalaev.
Ankalaev is the big favorite in this championship rematch.
Will we see the classic Poatan tonight?
Merab Dvalishvili vs. Cory Sandhagen

Round 5: Dvalishvili lands some power punches early in the round and, of course, lands some takedowns. Sandhagen lands a nice spin kick to the body. Dvalishvili gets another takedown and they land with their arms tangled up. Dvalishvili decides to bail on the position. They trade some big shots. Sandhagen is but by the left eye. Dvalishvili lands his 18th takedown. They throw big shots again, at the end of the round, and Sandhagen comes close to wobbling Dvalishvili. But it’s not enough.
Round 4: Lots of boxing exchanges and a few flash takedowns from Dvalishvili in the first half of the round. Sandhagen is stinging him, but Dvalishvili is eating it all without issue. Sandhagen lands a couple of nice counters and then misses on his big knee. Dvalishvili gets Sandhagen down with a judo throw and then slaps on a D’arce. Time runs out. That’s a very close round to score.
I’ll give it to Dvalishvili, but I can totally see Sandhagen taking it.
Round 3: Sandhagen seems to have regained his composure for the third round. He and Dvalishvili exchange a few shots. Dvalishvili gets his tenth takedown of the fight. He’s not been able to hold Sandhagen down for long, but he’s implementing his game and looking like a winner.Dvalishvili spends the last minute of the round kneeing Sandhangen in the thigh.
Round 2: Dvalishvili goes after the single leg immediately in the second. He lands the takedown, but Sandhagen is right back up. Dvalishvili unloads with a combo! Sandhagen is hurt! Dvalishvili pours it on and drops Sandhagen, he throws ground and pound and he’s close to a finish. The referee gives Sandhagen more time and the challenger is able to survive. Dvalishvili stays on him. He takes Sandhagen down and throws more ground and pound. Dvalishvili takes Sandhagen down, over and over again, making Sandhagen exhaust himself by constantly getting up.
19-19 after two rounds. Arguments for a 10-8 for Dvalishvhili there.
Round 1: Sandhagen’s striking looks good early on. He’s been able to slip and rip on Dvalishvili and sting him with a few counters and jabs. Dvalishvili misses on his first takedown attempt. Dvalishvili gets his second takedown attempt to go, from the bodylock. Sandhagen is up quickly, , though. And then he manages to separate. Sandhagen lands more pot shots and stuffs another takedown. Feeling bold, Sandhagen tries his jumping knee, but misses.
10-9 Sandhagen, great opening round for the challenger.
Dvalishvili is the big favorite for this one (with the shortest odds of his career).

Jiri Prochazka vs. Khalil Rountree Jr.

Round 3: Rountree tees off on Prochazka early in the round. Prochazka tries to slip the punches and then jump in with a knee (which misses). Prochazka goes into chaos mode and starts chasing Rountree. Rountree clips him on the way in, but Prochazka is able to get close enough to land some hard shots of his own. Prochazka lands a big combo that has Rountree dazed and backing up. Rountree is in trouble. Prochazka is hunting him now. Prochazka rips to the body. Rountree tries to clinch to prevent more damage. Rountree catches a breath and lands a big punch. Prochazka comes forwards again with a combo and he knocks outs Rountree!
Jiri Prochazka is a madman.
Round 2: Prochazka lands a spinning elbow early in the round. Prochazka’s movement still seems very strangle, like he’s fighting on a blown ACL or something. He’s managed to hide it a bit better in this round. Rountree lands a few clubbing right hands. Prochazka is finding his range with his jab, but he’s not doing much to slow Rountree down.
Round 1: Lots of feints from both men through the first half of this round. Rountree has committed to more attacks, but neither has connected cleanly on much of anything. Rountree lands a nice body kick and a combo. Things heat up with two minutes left and Rountree lands a big shot as they trade in the pocket. Prochazka looks a little unstable, like his legs might give out under him, due to some sort of injury. Prochazka misses on an awkward kick and Rountree blitzes forwards with a combo.
10-9 Rountree after one round. Something looks off with Prochazka.
Could be some fireworks in this one.
Josh Emmett vs. Youseff Zalal

Wow, Zalal is a top Featherweight. He landed a perfect takedown and then swiftly moved to the submission. Gorgeous stuff from Zalal.
Round 1: Zalal gets Emmett down at the 40 second mark, landing a beautiful reactive takedown as Emmett stepped in. Zalal works to the back and then rolls for an armbar. And it’s over, quickly. Zalal might have broken Emmett’s arm.
Emmett is the big underdog here against the streaking Zalal.
Joe Pyfer vs. Abus Magomedov

Magomedov looked great in the first round, but Pyfer’s power made a huge difference early in the second round.
And this was the end of the end for Magomedov:
This was the beginning of the end for Magomedov:
Round 2: Pyfer comes out hot and lands a right hand that drops Magomedov. Pyfer gets on top and tries to set up an arm triangle. He steps over into mount. Magomedov looks for some room, but this is very tight. Pyfer gives up on it and takes the back, with a leg triangle. Pyfer locks in the rear naked choke and that’s a wrap.
Round 1: Pyfer goes for the takedown and invests a lot of time in it only for Magomedov to sweep once they hit the ground and get on top. Magomedov lands a little ground and pound, but Pyfer is able to power up to his feet. Magomedov drags him right back down, though, and then goes for a kimura. Magomedov gives it up for side control. Pyfer gets to his feet and finally gets free of Magomedov. Magomedov lands some nice jabs at the end of the round.
Magomedov wins the round 10-9.
Joe Pyfer vs. Abus Magomedov coming up now. Pyfer is the favorite for this one. Magomedov is on a nice run, though.
Come on man… dude just got robbed on the “Prelims”.
