“T-Wrecks” wants “Monkey King.”
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Terrance McKinney scored a quick win over Viacheslav Borshchev, submitting him in less than a minute at UFC 317 this past weekend (Sat., June 28, 2025) from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada (watch highlights).
The 30-year-old Lightweight finisher secured his second win of 2025 and is hungry for more before the year’s end. His next target? Jordan Leavitt. But first, he needs eight weeks to cut back to 155 pounds.
“I want to fight in, like, October. I just need, like, eight weeks because I’m already almost 190 pounds,” McKinney told Fight Bananas. “So yeah, as long as I have eight weeks, I’ll fight anyone, but I’m thinking I would like to fight Jordan Leavitt next. That would be nice.”

Leavitt is also coming off a quick first-round finish, in which he strangled Kurt Holobaughunconscious (watch highlights).
A Leavitt-McKinney matchup would be interesting as “Monkey King” has barely been touched in his UFC career thus far, and has shown he has impressive grappling, but can he withstand five minutes of McKinney going berserk?
Still, McKinney’s got options. The first-round finisher has history with Chris Duncan, a past-booked foe, and wouldn’t shy away from former training partner Chase Hooper. That said, he’s not itching to face Hooper, especially in their shared Washington scene.
“I’m not going to push for [a fight against Chase], but if the UFC gives it to me, I’ll do it,” McKinney said. “We’ve trained together before, and it’s not something that really needs to happen, but if the UFC does it, why not? … I wouldn’t want to do Washington like that. We’re both succeeding, and there are plenty of matchups at 155.”
