Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) knockout artist, Melvin Guillard,returned to mixed martial arts (MMA) action for the first time since 2019 this past weekend (Sat., May 17, 2025) at Ohio Combat League 38.
It did not go well.
Guillard squared off against undefeated prospect, Josiah Harrell, who had a three-day UFC contract to fight newly-crowned Welterweight champion, Jack Della Maddalena, until the promotion dumped him after finding out he had a rare brain condition.
Nevertheless, Harrell rag-dolled Guillard with suplexes before slapping on a rear-naked choke three minutes into the first round.

It’s been five years since Guillard (32-23-2) threw down in MMA. His last outing? A 41-second faceplant in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) four years ago againstJoe Riggs(watch highlights).
In fact, “The Young Assassin” hasn’t tasted MMA victory since 2014, when he starched Gesias Cavalcante at WSOF 11: “Gaethje vs. Newell.”
Think 10 straight losses might convince Guillard to hang up the gloves? NOPE.
He’ll jump back into competition next month against 5-1 prospect Hunter Smith at Ragin FC 2 in Louisiana. He is also booked for a kickboxing scrap in July against 50-year-old Patrick Hutton at Hybrid FC 2.
