Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight Sedriques Dumas is fighting for more than pride this weekend — he’s fighting for his bank account.
Dumas returns to action against Zach Reese at Noche UFC 3 on Sat., Sept. 13, 2025, inside Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas. But just a week before fight night, “The Reaper” revealed on social media that he’s flat-out broke.
“The Reaper” shared a screenshot of his bank account balance, which showed just $13.96 remaining. For a UFC fighter who’s been on ESPN, that number turned heads fast. But Dumas insists it’s no joke — it’s the reality of legal fees, family responsibilities, and the kind of turbulent year that nearly ended his career.
Earlier this year, the 29-year-old was arrested on multiple charges, including felony home invasion robbery without a firearm, misdemeanor battery, and felony possession of a weapon by a convicted felon (more details here). He was slapped with an ankle monitor and forced to withdraw from UFC 317, missing out on a fight check when he needed it most. That absence left him scrambling, both financially and professionally, as his Octagon future was suddenly uncertain.
“This is a price of being an adult and paying legal actions and stuff in your life,” Dumas wrote. “I hate to hear people say people don’t struggle at a big scene. Yeah all y’all can laugh about it. I’m just giving y’all something to laugh about.”
Dumas (10-3) is 2-2 inside the Octagon, and his back is firmly against the wall. A loss to Reese could mean more than another dent on his record — it could put his UFC contract in jeopardy. On the flip side, a win not only buys him more time with the promotion but gives him a much-needed payday, one that might finally push his account balance north of $20.
One thing’s for sure: when “The Reaper” steps into the cage this Saturday, he’ll be more than likely fighting like his career — and his wallet — depends on it.
