Nate Diaz may get into a lot of brawls, but the Stockton fighter insists they’re all started by other people.
In a new interview on THE HJR Podcast, Diaz discussed how everyone is always testing him whenever he’s in public with his boys, and he refuses to avoid conflict if others start it.
“I ain’t out hunting either … we ain’t out pickin’ on nobody, right?” Nate said. “We’re just out more than anybody. I refuse to stay inside. You know what I’m saying? People try to step on your shoes and push you over. Nah … The more you’re out, the more people see opportunities. Like when I choked the Logan Paul motherf—er. Like, I was attacked. I just finished the attacking. What am I supposed to do?”
Diaz choked out Logan Paul lookalike Rodney Petersen during a wild New Orleans brawl back in 2023, with footage showing Petersen foolishly approaching Diaz with his hands up as multiple other fights raged in the background. The Orleans Parish District Attorney didn’t bother to press charges, but Petersen did eventually make some money off the incident.
“He did sue me. I won,” Nate said, before admitting he didn’t win. “I was winning, but it was just gonna go forever and I was gonna pay more in lawyer fees. So I just ended up paying them $18K because my lawyer bills were up to $17K. And it cost me $30 grand. I’m like, I get sued by everybody. I guarantee you, I got the record.”
Diaz also explained why there are so many videos of him throwing water bottles at people, arguing it’s the perfect tool to handle fools because it causes more insult than injury.
“See, I got this bottle. I stay hydrated. I always have water on me no matter where I’m at,” he said. “You should see next to my bed in my room. I got 15 waters every night.”
“And then someone starts popping off?” Diaz pantomimed throwing a bottle. “Shut up, b—h!”
“Someone starts talking s—, he’s way over there like, ‘F— you! What you gonna do?’ Like a little b—h, I’m just going to run and chase you down cuz you just called me a p—y and a f—t and all this s—? I’m just like, ‘Hey, shut up.’ Now I tagged you, ball’s in your court. What you gonna do about it?”
