Welcome to Midnight Mania!
Let’s start the night off by taking look back over the three biggest stories of Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
- Raw video: Bed-ridden UFC legend BJ Penn arrested by half-a-dozen cops: The BJ Penn situation is both extremely sad and destined for disaster. Hopefully he gets the help he needs, and his family is safe in the meanwhile …
- Charles Oliveira reminds power-obsessed UFC fans picking Ilia Topuria by KO — ‘When I fought Justin Gaethje, he went down’: Between his power punches and sneaky high kicks, Charles Oliveira is absolutely a live dog here.
- Iconic regional fighter with over 100 losses still ‘kind of sad’ he missed the UFC boat despite ‘hell of a resume’: I have nothing but respect for journeyman fighters. A lot have similar stories of having some genuine skills but a wildly unstable life outside of the gym, which leads to short-notice bookings, losing streaks, and harder match ups from promoters.
Insomnia
Chris Curtis has never been the biggest Middleweight, but I’m very curious to see if he’ll be able to make a successful 170-pound return at 37 years of age. It’s been since 2021. Regardless, a banger match up!
One of those images that’s too good to be true.
It’ll be really interesting to see whether Ludovit Klein can implement this front kick opposite Mateusz Gamrot. Dan Hooker used it to great effect!
I am definitely ready to see the thick, solid, and tight version of a retired Jose Aldo.
Important note: GLORY is likely to be unaffected by this Netherlands rule change banning calf kicks in kickboxing. Still hilarious!
Rate Sergei Pavlovich’s golf swing out of ten … then rate it if you had to say that number to his face.
TJ Dillashaw still isn’t impressed by Aljamain Sterling all these years later.
Slips, rips, and KO clips
An absolute shotgun blast right off the opening bell …
Another beautiful spinning kick KO in the very first round.
What an incredible check right hook!
Random Land
A real cat burglar.
A lost cat named ‘Nub Tang’ got a mugshot taken after attacking Thai police trying to rescue her
Her playful “arrest” went viral, which helped the owner find her pic.twitter.com/Je8ncQNzAO
