Michael Chandler took a hellacious beating in the UFC 314 pay-per-view (PPV) co-main event last weekend in Miami, leaving “Iron” with injuries severe enough to get him rushed backstage before “The Baddy” even finished his post-fight interview.
But don’t worry, he’s “still smiling.”
Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation (FDBPR) released its full list of medical suspensions in the wake of the UFC 314 fight card, courtesy of MMA Junkie, with Chandler — who turns 39 in just a few days — drawing a 60-day sit.
Other combatants, like UFC 314 headliner Diego Lopes, could be out for much longer.
Alexander Volkanovski: Suspended 45 days.
Diego Lopes: Suspended indefinitely.
Michael Chandler: Suspended 60 days.
Yair Rodriguez: Suspended 30 days.
Bryce Mitchell: Suspended 30 days.
Nikita Krylov: Suspended 60 days.
Sean Woodson: Suspended 30 days.
Virna Jandiroba: Suspended indefinitely.
Yan Xiaonan: Suspended 30 days.
Chase Hooper: Suspended indefinitely.
Jim Miller: Suspended 30 days.
Julian Erosa: Suspended 21 days.
Darren Elkins: Suspended 45 days.
Sedriques Dumas: Suspended 30 days.
Su Mudaerji: Suspended 21 days.
Marco Tulio: Suspended indefinitely.
Tresean Gore: Suspended indefinitely.
Perhaps that hand isn’t broken after all.
Fighters often return to action much quicker once doctors give them the green light. The lengthy suspensions are just a precaution in most cases. In addition, not all injuries are recorded during the post-fight examination and often times surface in follow-up tests.
