It’s better to be safe than sorry …
The main event of UFC Vegas 107, pitting top-five-ranked UFC Flyweight contenders Maycee Barber against Erin Blanchfield, was canceled moments before Blanchfield’s scheduled walk to the Octagon (details here).
During the UFC Vegas 107 broadcast, officials announced that Barber was “medically unfit” to compete. Blanchfield later disclosed that she was informed Barber had suffered a seizure.
UFC officials confirmed to MMAmania.com that Barber was transported to a hospital for medical evaluation, though the exact nature of her condition remains undisclosed.

It’s also not uncommon for a fighter to miss weight the day prior (like Barber did) and not be able to compete the next day due to medical issues.
Plus, Barber was out of action for nearly 14 months and was dealing with scary medical issues during her time out.
Stay tuned to MMAMania.com, as we will keep you updated as soon as Barber provides an update on the UFC Vegas 107 debacle and what led to her hospitalization.
