Phil Davis hadn’t stepped foot inside the cage for a fight in nearly two years prior to last night’s (Thurs., May 1, 2025) quarterfinal fight against Rob Wilkinson in the main event of PFL 4 in Orlando, Fla., but you would never know it based on his performance.
Indeed, “Mr. Wonderful” looked fresh as ever at 40 years of age, stopping Wilkinson in the second round thanks to a setup by a massive overhand right hand that dropped “Razor” like a sack of potatoes. Smelling blood, Davis pounced and put on the finishing touches to force a stoppage, and to advance to the second round of the 2025 World Tournament.
Now, Davis will prepare to face Sullivan Cauley, his former Bellator MMA stablemate, who also advanced with an impressive TKO win of his own over Alex Polizzi (see it again here). The two men are expected to fight in June, with the winner earning a spot in the $500,000 finale at the end of the year.
