Khamzat Chimaev thought he was brothers with Belal Muhammad.
Then “Remember the Name” went and told the combat sports media that defeating the middleweight phenom was the best way to elevate his career and prove to UFC he was a main event player. That (eventually) happened without the Chimaev fight, but the 2021 callout left a bad taste in the mouth of “Borz.”

That’s why Chimaev is celebrating the loss of Muhammad at UFC 315.
“He call me Muslim brother then he go saying he wants to beat me so should I be nice to you?” Chimaev responded to a Muslim fan calling for unity on social media. “I like real people not fake, if you call my brother you should be my brother. I always support Palestine but I never support fake people.”
Muhammad was defeated by Aussie sensation Jack Della Maddalena.

Chimaev, who changed weight classes after failing to maintain a welterweight physique, is expected to challenge reigning middleweight titleholder, Dricus Du Plessis, at some point later this year. That’s assuming “Borz” doesn’t fall victim to another mysterious illness, which seems to get triggered by “hard training” ahead of each fight.
