Jake Paul is either really confident in Amanda Serrano after losing twice to Katie Taylor, or he’s simply a really good promoter.

That’s because “El Gallo” recently put up a $1 million bet with none other than former rival, Mike Tyson, for the upcoming trilogy fight between Serrano and Taylor, which is set to go down this Friday night (July 11, 2025) inside Madison Square Garden in New York City live on Netflix.

Taylor already has two wins over Serrano, initially defeating her via split decision in April 2022 in what was one of the best fights of the year (highlights). In doing so, Taylor retained her WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO, and The Ring female lightweight titles. She then went on to take Serrano out once more, beating her via unanimous decision in Nov. 2024 in what was the co-main event to Paul vs. Tyson (see it again here). This time around, “The Bray Bomber” won more convincingly on all of the judges scorecards.

With two wins already, many wondered why a trilogy fight was booked seeing as how Taylor really doesn’t have much else to prove. That said, if the money was right and ratings were good, that’s pretty much all that is needed for a third fight, warranted or not.

That said, with two wins for Taylor in her back pocket it’s looking pretty good for “Iron Mike” to come out $1 million richer.

As for Paul and Tyson, the two seem to have a good relationship despite “El Gallo” defeating him last year in a lackluster, lop-sided fight. Paul received heavy criticism for the bout, and has since threatened to sue anyone who claims his fights are rigged, a statement he made shortly after defeating Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. a few weeks ago.
