Jared Gordon scored the biggest win of his career earlier tonight (Sat., May 17, 2025) at UFC Vegas 106 LIVE on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, putting a brutal stop to lightweight veteran Thiago Moises with a first-round knockout (punches).
This was expected to be one of the best “Prelims” matchups of the night and for good reason. Gordon is a crowd pleaser who pushes the pace every step of the way while Moises has punishing leg kicks and a world-class ground game. It was a nice pairing and one that was hopeful to end in a finish.
Unfortunately for Moises, that finish came at this expense. Gordon showed little respect for Moises’ ground game in the early going with a timely takedown. “Flash” wasn’t able to land much volume from top position, but it was still a good look in the eyes of the judges. The fight eventually returned to the feet and that’s when Gordon caught Moises with a wicked right hand counter. Moises crumbled to the canvas and Gordon piled on top for the final blows.
Check out the video highlights in the above player.
Gordon, 36, needed this win in the worst way after experiencing some tough outcomes to fights in recent years. This includes a controversial decision loss to Paddy Pimblett and a winning fight that ended in an accidental head butt. “Flash” finally caught the break he was looking for and sets himself up for a big fight his next time out.
