Former Top 15-ranked Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight and The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 15 winner, Michael Chiesa, defeated fellow TUF winner, Court McGee,at UFC Atlanta this past weekend (Sat., June 14, 2025) from inside State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
It was predictable to say the least.
Indeed, “Chiesa vs. McGee” undeniably deflated the arena’s energy with a very tedious fight that seemed like a sparring match, especially following two consecutive brutal knockouts (watch one here).

The bout was hard to watch, as neither fighter possessed knockout power, and their grappling neutralized each other, resulting in a back-and-forth kickboxing match.
And regardless of how it appeared, Chiesa was proud of his performance.
“This is the first time I didn’t shoot for a takedown,” Chiesa told Ariel Helwani. “So, yeah, casual fans can go f—k themselves. I don’t care, you can say all you want to me, I don’t want to see, but it doesn’t even matter.
“I’m proud of myself,” he added. “I’m still getting out of my comfort zone at 37 years old, trying new things, just trying to expand myself as a competitor, in terms of what I can do under the lights.
“I’m not a knockout artist,” Chiesa concluded. “I doubt I’ll ever get a knockout in my entire career, but the fact that I was able and willing to go out there and stand for 15 minutes, I’m proud of myself, and no one can take that from me.”
Nevertheless, a win is a win, and Chiesa now boasts a three-fight win streak, including submission victories over Tony Ferguson (highlights) andMax Griffin (highlights).
