Sedriques Dumas is set to make his UFC return at UFC 317 on June 28th against newcomer Jackson “The Moose” McVey … despite the fact that Dumas was recently arrested for a number of very serious crimes.

“The Reaper” has been jailed over a dozen times since 2014, and his latest April run-in with the law was a doozy. Dumas was booked on five charges including felony home invasion robbery without a firearm, misdemeanor battery, felony possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, felony possession of a controlled substance without prescription, and misdemeanor drug equipment possession.

That stems from an incident with Dumas’ ex-girlfriend where he entered her home, battered her, tried to pull the rings off her fingers, and stole her necklace. Police would later find Dumas hiding in a dog crate at his new girlfriend’s home. Hidden in an equally poor fashion: a big bag of weed and a handgun.

Sedriques Dumas is 3-3 in the UFC and was last seen getting KO’d by Michal Oleksiejczuk weeks before this latest arrest. This isn’t his first arrest while under contract to the UFC. He was arrested for felony battery in 2024 and even livestreamed a stand-off with the police.

So why is the UFC going and booking Dumas into a short-notice fight at UFC 317? Are they that desperate for a body to fight highly touted LFA prospect Jackson McVey? Should we even continue to ask why the UFC would keep booking guys that are giant pieces of s—t?

At this point we have to wonder what kind of outside-the-cage behavior it would take to get the promotion to release someone. Clearly ‘felony home invasion robbery’ doesn’t do it.
