Last week, the story that got the most eyeballs was actually a two-parter — Beneil Dariush missing weight for his fight against Benoit Saint Denis and Islam Makhachev’s Welterweight debut look.

Since dominating Joaquin Buckley earlier this year, former Welterweight champion Kamaru Usman has been yelling from the top floor of every building that he should be fighting for the title next — and he doubled and tripled down this week.

Former champ Leon Edwards said his fight with Prates was a must-win, which was absolutely true, but he also said Prates was a perfect matchup for him (it wasn’t).

Random ‘Stat or Fact of the Week’
Two rematches took place last night at UFC 322 (Blanchfield vs. Cortez 2 & Sabatini vs. Mariscal 2) — both of the rematches were from fights that were outside of the UFC.
The losers from the first fights exacted their revenge in the rematch.

No notable UFC fights were announced this week, but a banging OKTAGON card was.
This Past Week in MMA History:
UFC Denver – Nov. 10, 2018
The 25th anniversary took place in Denver, and one of the best knockouts of all time happened in the main event.
In the co-main event, Donald Cerrone tapped Mike Perry in the first round.
UFC Norfolk – Nov. 11, 2017
Speaking of nasty knockouts, Matt Brown’s hellbow of Diego Sanchez is brutal.
One of the better Madison Square Garden cards went down two years ago with five finishes on the PPV main card.
In the main event, Alex Pereira became Light Heavyweight champion.
In the co-main event, Tom Apsinall became the interim Heavyweight champion
In the main event of UFC 281, Alex Pereira knocked out Israel Adesanya to become the Middleweight champion.
Also on the UFC 281 main card, Chris Gutierrez retired Frankie Edgar.
Pain.
Finally, the first UFC card to take place inside Madison Square Garden went down in 2016 … and Conor McGregor was the star of the show.
