Fight fans are tied of seeing Jon Jones hold up the UFC heavyweight division and they’ve signed a petition to see it changed.

It’s only been six months since Jones defended his UFC heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 (highlights HERE), but for most it seems way longer than that. That’s because Jones has only fought twice in total overover the past five years. Not to mention the fact that Jones has teased retirement more than once and seems perfectly fine waiting on the sidelines for as long as he wants.

Jones’ decision to delay his next fight has put the UFC heavyweight division in a weird spot. More specifically, it puts interim UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall in a state of constant limbo. The English star has destroyed every opponent he has faced inside of the Octagon and appears to be the next generation of heavyweight fighter. Unfortunately for Aspinall, his title unification fight against Jones remains on ice, which has somewhat capped his full UFC potential.

As for fight fans, they’re tired of hearing about a potential championship bout between Jones and Aspinall. It’s still the biggest fight to make in UFC right now and they want it now. If Jones is unable to schedule his return to the Octagon then those same fight fans want him stripped of his title. This would allow Aspinall to fight for undisputed gold and become the massive star he can be.

In fact, over 30,000 fight fans have already signed an online petition to have Jones stripped of his UFC belt. UFC CEO, Dana White, is listed as the official “Decision Maker,” but the total signatures continue to grow. It will be interesting to see how many people sign this petition before Jones either books his next fight, vacates his belt, or UFC officials decide to actually take his title away.

Will you sign?
