The Professional Fighters League saw its Middle East-North Africa sub-promotion kick off 2025 on Friday with PFL MENA 1 going down in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Featherweight and lightweight fighters from across the region were set to compete at the event, which saw tournaments in both divisions get underway alongside a handful of “showcase” bouts.
In the main event, lightweights Mohsen Mohammadseifi and Ahmed El Sisy faced off. El Sisy was making his promotional debut against last year’s PFL MENA champ Mohammadseifi.
Former UFC fighter Yanis Ghemmouri was also in action on Friday, perhaps the most recognizable name to fans outside of the Middle East. He was set to take part in the featherweight tournament, taking on Izzeddine Al Derbani in the night’s co-main event.
